Mamie Kathleen Witt-Eeds was born in the Wolf Springs area of Oklahoma on January 13, 1923 the daughter of Simon Peter Fears and Sadie Ellen (Clayton) Fears. She left this world December 18, 2009 at the age of 86 years 11 months and 15 days.
Kathleen grew up in the Wolf Springs area and at the age of 16 married Silas “Buster” Witt.
Kathleen spent her life as a homemaker and mother. She loved to sew and it was her favorite hobby. She made quilts for each of her grandchildren. During her earlier years Kathleen worked as a waitress. She and her daughter Carolyn opened and operated a restaurant in Stilwell. Kathleen participated in the PTA, attending meetings and bringing treats. She enjoyed making children’s clothes, growing flowers, gardening and fishing with her good friend Gladys Guinn. Kathleen loved being with her family at their gospel reunions.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buster Witt; sister, Galela Harmon; brother, Raymond Fears; half-sisters, Dovie Clouse and May Brister and brother-in-law, Jim Brister.
She is survived by her daughters, Eve Young and husband George of Lago Vista, TX, Carolyn Beasley and John of Tahlequah, OK; a son Tommy Lee Witt of Tahlequah, OK;
nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a host of other friends and loved ones whom she will be missed by.
