Funeral services for Ruby Yvonne Spencer of Vian, Oklahoma will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Box Cemetery Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Isaac Slape. Honorary Palbearers are Tyler Spencer, Hunter Spencer, Derek Locust, Tre’ Locust, Logan Murphy and Dakota Brown. Ruby Yvonne (Lee) Spencer was born June 15, 1940 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Owen Sylvester Lee and Della (Ray) Lee. Ruby left this world on Friday January 8, 2010 at the age of 69.
Ruby was a lifelong resident of the Box Community.
She married Norman Spencer in Stigler, Oklahoma on December 26, 1958 and just celebrated 51 years of marriage this past year. Ruby devoted her life to her husband and family, She enjoyed maintaining her yard, mowing, weedeating and tending to her flowers.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Della Lee and brother Jerry Lee.
She is survived by her husband, Norman of the home; three children, Anita Murphy and husband Kenneth, Mike Spencer and wife Sandra, and Jenell Locust and husband Leslie Jr. all of Vian, OK.; twelve grandchildren, Melissa Slape, Logan Murphy, Chris Murphy, Elizabeth Murphy, David Murphy, Tyler Spencer, Hunter Spencer, Brandi Noisey, Derek Locust, Tre’ Locust, Camry Brown and Dakota Brown; two great grandchildren,Abigail Slape and Josiah Slape; brothers, Carl Lee and Rex Lee; sister, Ruth Wasson; also many dear friends and loved ones who she will be missed by.
